Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering (SSGMCE), Shegaon, established in the year 1983, conducts five degree courses viz. BE Electrical (Electronics & Power System), BE Electronics and Telecommunications, BE Computer Science and Engg., BE Mechanical and BE Information Technology and three PG courses namely MBA, ME (Digital Electronics) and ME (EPS) with 60 intakes each except ME courses where intake is 18 each with due permission from the Director of Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra and affiliation to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati and approval from AICTE, New Delhi.
In its first 18 years, the college grew in size conducting UG & PG courses in engineering and management on 78 acres of sprawling Wi-Fi campus in over 62,000 sq. mts. of built-up area for academics including 50 state-of-the-art laboratories (recognized for Ph.D. works) & residence of 85% inmates, Internet connected 650 PCs, automated library with more than 78,000 number of Text and Reference books, more than 27,741 number of Titles, more than 583 number of Periodicals on various subjects including Online Periodicals, 20 Daily News Papers, online subscriptions and 120 highly qualified faculty members besides all support facilities and an outstanding sports arena with thrust on research and invention through a separately established " Shri Gajanan Invention And Research Center (SGIARC)" in a spiritually founded environment for translating the parent organization's ideal of " Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah". College was also awarded A-grade by Maharashtra Govt.
About DBAR
Department of Business Administration and Research (DBAR) is the first department of this college established in the year 1994 to conduct AICTE MBA course. Sixteen batches of MBAs have since passed out from here displaying their mettle in industry and academics in India and abroad. With teacher student ratio being 1:12, the department extends personalized care to its students in their grooming. Many students have even published their papers along with their respective faculty members working hand in glove truly commensurate with the Post-Graduate level of studies. The focus here is on learning and growth through collective wisdom. This has resulted in ranking of the department under A-Grade by Business India magazine in its Best B-Schools Survey 2010 (reference Business India, 4 - 17 October 2010 issue). This gives it the singular distinction of being the only institution from rural India located at a Taluka place appearing in the list of best B-Schools of our country.
About || PRAKALPAKRITI ||
Summer Internship is an integral part of MBA programme to offer to its participant's hands-on experience of real life managerial situation. PRAKALPAkriti is a National level competition of projects based on summer internship of MBA participants. It also aims at providing a platform for the students of management from different parts of country to come closer and increase interaction amongst them and learn to craft innovative, relevant and outstanding projects - a skill required in their future role. This year's PRAKALPAkriti is the third such competition organized here.The first PRAKALPAKRITI was organized on 9th January 2010. The second PRAKALPAkriti was organized on 8th January 2011. Forty eight SIP's from students of B-Schools from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat were presented in the final round and evaluated by Mr.Vishal Mihani, Entrepreneur, Cold Storage, Nandura; Mr.Suresh Deotalu, DGM, (QA) Legrand India Ltd, Jalgaon; Mr.Kamal Jain, Factory Engineer, HUL, Khamgaon; Mr.Nikhil Khetan, Entrepreneur.
